Always a believer in innovation and in the use of the latest technological breakthroughs, Coverking was set up in 1986 to modernize the car cover industry that was relatively backward and used to practice the cut-and-sew custom methods at that time. The company was founded by an Electrical Engineer in Southern California who has years of experience as an Industrial and Electrical Engineer in the Aerospace Defense industry.

Quickly the company started to grow and began to acquire several automotive companies, and some of them even dated back to 1974. Coverking became responsible for several breakthroughs in the industry such as reducing the production time of the custom, one-off Dash Covers from 30 days to just 1 day. The industry had to take notice and accept that Coverking was here to stay and was a natural leader.

The acquired knowledge and experience of working for decades with the most advanced and sophisticated defense weapons systems came handy. Coverking's efforts to modernize the industry and offer the customers a better value for money began to yield positive results.

Originally developed for the aerospace industry, Coverking purchased advanced CAD/CAM systems and this ensured that the final output was accurate and precise and the levels of pattern quality produced were mush higher than the prevailing standards. Because of all these innovations, the efficiencies reached a previously unattained level and the result was a product that was better fitting, and it cost less and saved time too.

Naturally, Coverking started to rule the market.

The company then wanted to venture deeper and transferred the same knowledge into the making of Custom Floor Mats, Custom Car Covers, Custom Seat Covers and Custom Sunshields. And here too the story was much the same. The industry standards in these products were raised and Coverking was able to enhance its market share as well.

Even today, Coverking continues to enhance efficiency and quality and attempts to reach out to new people in newer markets. Wherever there is a scope for improvement, Coverking will try to achieve it. And so, Coverking has quickly become the leading brand in the world for outdoor and indoor custom car covers, seat covers, dash covers, floor mats, sunshield and other auto accessories.
